Why it matters

Mixed content defeats the point of HTTPS: an attacker on the network can intercept or alter the insecure resource, and a tampered script can run anything on your page. What is mixed content?

Mixed content is when a page served over HTTPS loads some resources — images, scripts, stylesheets — over insecure HTTP. It weakens the security of the page and causes browsers to warn users or block the resource.

Why does my padlock show a warning?

Usually because of passive mixed content: an image or media file loading over HTTP. The browser keeps the page working but removes the secure padlock to signal the connection is not fully encrypted.

How do I fix mixed content?
